Scenic alert!
You may want to make a few stops along the way to take in the beauty of Oak Creek Canyon. We suggest the Scenic Overlook before you start the descent into the canyon (shortly after the point where the speed limit drops to 35 mph.) Junipine Resort Cafe is the only place to dine in the canyon (other than Dairy Queen). The fare is simple, but good, and the have a lovely outdoor porch. Slide Rock State Park is a great stop if you have time to stay a while – get in the icy cold natural waterslide! Garlands Native American store is a worthwhile stop for superlative Indian jewelry, but you can stop at the Dairy Queen, also, where Native Americans have booths set up to sell their wares. Midgley Bridge is a nice overlook – later you may want to return here to start a hike into Wilson Mountain Wilderness.

Drive through uptown Sedona to the first roundabout. Circle around LEFT onto Hwy 179. Drive past Tlaquepaque on the right, cross the bridge, and stay RIGHT through the roundabout. The Inn On Oak Creekis the first building you come to on your right.

Stop at the Inn lobby to register and drop off your luggage.

From Jerome & Cottonwood
Take Hwy 89A NORTH through Cottonwood to Sedona. Continue through Sedona to the second roundabout.

Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 179. You will drive past Tlaquepaque on your right, cross the bridge and bear right through the roundabout after the bridge, staying on Hwy 179.
